Sandwiches can be healthy, if made right. Choose healthy breads, such as whole wheat, whole grain or sourdough. Choose to eliminate the unhealthy condiments (like mayo) and replace with healthy additions, such as avocado. It is all about making good choices.
Try this turkey sandwich. I think you will find the avocado spread a tasty addition (you won't even miss the mayo!).
- 2slices whole wheat or whole grain bread
- 2leaves romaine lettuce
- 2slices tomato
- 4slices cucumber
- 1/4 avocadomashed
- 4thin slices red onion
- 4thin slices turkey breast
- spicy mustard(optional)
- On 1 slice of bread, layer the vegetables and turkey. Spread the mustard, if desired, on the remaining slice of bread and place on top of the turkey.
